Dialogue

There is a long ongoing discussion about dialogue tags here. The gist seems to be that 'said' is the best tag when you absolutely must have one, although more descriptive tags are better as long as the description isn't inferred by the dialogue itself.

As a reader, here's what I know. This annoys me:
Johnny said, "Is everyone ok with that?"
 Lori said, "Sure."
"Alright," said Frank.
"Ok," said Billy.
Terry said, "No. Why do I always have to be the one doing all the work?"
As a writer, I'm trying to find a way to write a scene like that without using the word "said" SO many times. Here's what I've come up with:
Johnny leaned forward. "Is everyone ok with that?"
 Lori nodded. "Sure."
"Alright," said Frank.
Billy shrugged. "Ok,"
Terry slammed her hands on the table. "No. Why do I always have to be the one doing all the work?" She shook out her hands.
